Another successful Lifesaving Instructor Course!

On 6th May 2017 9 candidates from around the branch and beyond attended an APL Lifesaving Instructor course held at Lower Wick Swimming Pool and delivered by branch chair Teresa Myatt and local NTA Scott Winstanley.

Candidates from South Worcester Lifeguards, Wombourne Lifeguards, Dudley, Burton Lifesaving Club and Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre learned how to deliver the programme, the importance of assessing effectively and ensuring standardisation.

All the candidates are current holders of the Rookie Lifeguard Instructors qualification and some hold ASA level 2 swimming teachers qualifications, sports coaching and PGCE's.

Following the course the duty manager Lewis Williams from Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre said "Thank you very much for organising the course, the girls said it was a delight to attend the course and they thoroughly enjoyed it, the ladies are a huge credit to the centre, their swim school and the lifesaving lessons they currently provide and look forward to delivering the Survive & Save Programme in the future".
